Choosing and connecting the sending service
01Before you begin #sec_1b6d624e
Open Settings > Communication > Email provider.
You can see all the configurations already connected, their title, their provider, the associated domains, their status and the route used by default. Each configuration occupies its own line, even when multiple accounts use the same provider.
02Using the REVIEWIT service #sec_40c48020
The REVIEWIT sending service is a consumable route as is. The underlying technical provider is not exposed: the subscription chooses a service, not the internal infrastructure that carries it.
You can designate it as the default route in the same way as a configuration provided by the organization.
03Bringing your own provider #sec_7c365dab
Click on Add a provider . The addition panel offers SendGrid, Mailgun, Amazon SES and Scaleway Transactional Email.
First give an explicit title to the configuration. This title distinguishes, for example, a production account from an account reserved for a subsidiary or a region. It is more useful than a technical number when the same provider is connected multiple times.
Then fill in the identifiers requested by the provider. The fields vary according to its API: access key, secret, region or technical domain. Use identifiers dedicated to REVIEWIT and limit their rights to the operations necessary for messaging.
04Check before activating #sec_c8287b25
Launch the connectivity check from the panel. This test confirms that the identifiers allow to reach the service; it does not yet prove that a domain is authenticated or that a recipient will accept the message.
A configuration must be active to be able to carry the default route. The actions to the right of each line are represented by icons; their tooltip recalls the function before clicking.
05Choosing the default route #sec_61774ba7
Use the action Set as default on the desired configuration. The Default badge immediately identifies the effective route.
If a default sender already belongs to another configuration, the Subscription Manager protects the consistency of the chain. The change of sender or route may therefore require confirmation rather than silently creating an invalid combination.
06Modifying or deleting a configuration #sec_fef5c0f9
A configuration provided by the client can be administered or deleted from its line. Deletion removes the connection from REVIEWIT; it does not delete the account, the domains, or the identities kept with the provider.
Before removing it, check that it is no longer the default route and that no necessary domain or sender still depends on it.
07Quick check #sec_bee7db28
Before moving on to domains, check that :
- the title allows to identify the configuration without opening the detail;
- the connectivity test is successful;
- the configuration intended for sending is active;
- only one route bears the Default badge;
- the secrets used are dedicated, limited and managed according to the organization's policy.
