Signing your batch: the sign-off
01In a nutshell #sec_357d263a
Deciding is not enough: what a campaign has entrusted to you is signed in one single gesture, and it is this signature — not your decisions one by one — that produces the enforceable attestation and authorizes remediation.
02What a batch is #sec_12e0c29a
The Sign-off screen explains it itself under What is a batch? : a batch groups, for a campaign and an occurrence, the requests that have been entrusted to you: it is the unit that you sign, under the policy version fixed at the campaign's conception.
Two practical consequences:
- A delegation or an escalation moves the request to the batch of its new
holder. What you have passed to someone is no longer in your batch.
- A sealed batch no longer moves. If requests arrive to you afterwards, a complement
is born alongside — a second batch, to be signed in turn.
03The screen #sec_75b69d71
Under the title, What you must sign, and where you stand. Three filters: to be signed, to be completed, overdue.
Each line shows the campaign, its status, a progress (N items decided) and its deadline (Deadline in N days, Deadline exceeded by N days). The progress bar distinguishes four origins, and the distinction matters:
| Segment | What it counts |
|---|---|
| decided by a person | Your decisions, and those of a delegate |
| closed by a default rule | What the policy decided in your place |
| that a default rule will close at the deadline | Not yet decided, but covered |
| without decision or rule | What blocks the signature |
Three actions per line: Open, Sign, Proof.
04When you cannot sign off yet #sec_b34b5e9e
The batch panel states it bluntly: You cannot sign off yet: N items await a decision. And the consequence: without a decision, these items will expire at the deadline without appearing in your attestation.
The table in the panel is read-only — no decision is made here. Deciding these items takes you back to My reviews, filtered on this batch only (Batch no. … only in the filter bar). Decide, then return.
05When the batch is complete #sec_2e20d80a
This batch is complete and can be signed. Before clicking, two warnings may appear, and they are worth reading:
Items decided by a default rule. Check them before signing, your attestation will bear them. Viewing these N items isolates them. You sign for them as you do for your own.
Items attested as undecided. Their request was closed or withdrawn before any verdict. They will thus appear in the attestation, by name.
Then the Signatory's Declaration. The proposed text — I certify that I have reviewed each of the items in this batch and attest to the decisions it carries. — is editable, and will be included as is in the attestation. Only modify it to say more truthfully, not to say less.
06Sign-off #sec_bb837da8
Signing the batch opens the confirmation Sign this batch? It summarizes what you are attesting to — occurrence, policy, requests, decided items, including N by rule — and reminds you: the signature is final. The batch is sealed and no decision can be modified anymore.
A checkbox unlocks the Sign permanently button. It states what you acknowledge, and that is exactly what you acknowledge.
07What the signature produces #sec_9d0067b3
Immediately: the attestation is composed and its imprint is fixed. The attestation's imprint is displayed, copyable. It identifies the signed scope and decisions.
The sealing, however, is completed at the next hourly pass. The package downloaded before carries the state of the moment; the one after carries the sealed state. Nothing to redo: it's the same batch.
08Your proof of signature #sec_b3c5e027
Proof opens Your proof of signature, in four steps:
- Keep — Download the proof: a single file, which contains the manifest, the
two control trees and the sealing declaration. The proof is this package.
- Readable document — a PDF projection of the attestation, to be read and filed. This is
not the proof, it is its reading.
- Verify — compare the file's fingerprint to the one displayed. If they match, *neither
the scope nor the decisions have changed since the signature*. Verification is done without REVIEWIT; the Verify a proof offline page gives its format.
- Submit — a ready-to-copy phrase with the file: *Attached is the attestation of
review "…", signed on … It can be verified without access to REVIEWIT; fingerprint: …*
In the table of signed requests, Proof of the line downloads the proof that only one decision belongs to the sealed attestation, without revealing anything about the other lines. This is what is submitted when one does not want to submit the entire batch.
09Two special cases #sec_8aebef18
This batch will not be signed off. When the campaign expires instead of closing automatically, requests that remain undecided receive no verdict — and an attestation is only signed on a fully covered scope. The batch moves under the expired tag. The lesson is upstream: decide before the deadline.
Sign-off is not available on this environment. The sealing service is not activated here. Your decisions are saved; you will sign off as soon as it is activated, without re-entering anything.
10To remember #sec_e5da604a
One batch, one declaration, one box, one definitive action. What comes out of it is verified without us, and that is what makes it enforceable. Decide in My reviews; sign off here; keep the package.
